Thing #10

In my 6th grade U.S. History classes one of my favorite lessons was a mock trial for the British soldiers accused of murder following The Boston Massacre. It was a lesson that required multiple copies of several primary source documents and a handout that guided them as they formed their opinions as to whether the soldiers were guilty or not. This lesson could become 21st Century by hosting a "Guilty/Not Guilty Wiki" and the wiki would allow students to discuss and collaborate in a common forum. The primary source documents, rubric and handout could be kept on the wiki and students could access them digitally. It could also have a links section where students could post links to supplementary independent research on the topic.
